In addition, Paragon is an organizational member of the Association of Climate Change Officers (ACCO), and several of our personnel are currently enrolled in training to earn the Certified Climate Change Professional® (CC-P®) credential through the Association of Climate Change Officers. Paragon is also a sustaining member of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME).

Alice Beechner Reeves, Ph.D., P.E.

President and CEO 

Alice Beechner Reeves has been the driving force at Paragon since she and her late business partner established the company in 1997. Her background in project management and quality systems, along with a passion for helping clients conceptualize and achieve long-term goals, puts Alice and Paragon in high demand.

During her corporate career, Alice held positions as director of customer and business focus, director of new product development, quality manager, and quality engineer. In addition to managing Paragon’s day-to-day operations, Alice helps clients establish value-added management systems and serves as mentor to a team of professionals to maintain the high level of service that has been associated with Paragon since its inception.

Amelia Trout

Project Engineer 

Amelia is passionate about securing energy independence and resilience. She is committed to promoting the strategic uptake of energy efficiency, electrification, and renewable energy technologies throughout urban and rural Midwest. Her education, a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering earned at the University of Missouri, influenced her interest in the field of energy. Today, she is focused on the critical challenges around energy resilience and sustainability, modernization and the cross-disciplinary fields of energy and automation technologies. Before joining the Paragon team, Amelia led the Missouri Division of Energy – Energy Efficiency programs, managed utility Renewable Energy Certifications in compliance with the State’s Renewable Energy Standard, and coordinated grant work that supported public outreach, market research, and demonstration of renewable energy and storage technologies. As Project Engineer for Paragon, she works with leading industry experts to conduct government sponsored research, co-create innovation, and study the integration of new and legacy energy equipment with modern developments in AI technologies.

 

 

ANgela Rolufs

Vice President for Strategic Energy Initiatives 

Angela Rolufs leads Paragon’s resiliency planning and energy technology consulting services. She is currently the program manager for a US Army Corps of Engineers, Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (CERL) research and prototype development project titled “Lead Acid Battery Assimilation and Power Management System” which will prototype and demonstrate lead battery energy storage systems and battery management technologies in a tactical environment. She is also leading Paragon’s efforts on an ESTCP-funded program for Installation Fleet Vehicle Electrification Planning. 

She was the program manager for a USACE-ERDC-CERL research program titled “Autonomous Transport Innovation” which developed the Fort Leonard Wood Contingency Basing Integration Training and Evaluation Center (CBITEC) and closed driving course at TA231 into a living laboratory that can be used to test and evaluate autonomous systems and bi-directional EV charging within a tactical microgrid. Angela partnered with Consortium for Battery Innovation (CBI) to deliver planning and host-site feasibility studies to the Missouri Division of Energy for integration of advanced energy storage technologies with EV charging infrastructure at Missouri Gas stations. 

Angela is the former Executive Director of Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) Microgrid Industrial Consortium, the Missouri S&T Center for Sustainability, and the Missouri Transporation Institue Research Consortium. Before joining Missouri S&T, Angela was the Fort Leonard Wood Planning Division Chief where she planned, programmed and delivered Fort Leonard Wood’s annual Miliary Contruction (MILCON) program in collaboration with the Kansas City District, US Army Corps of Engineers.

Hayden Dermanelian

Lead Environmental Quality Technician

Hayden Dermanelian joined Paragon in July of 2020. He has a strong foundation in environmental resources and hydrology as well as years of management experience. Before joining Paragon, he had internships with both the Forest Service in Pollock Pines, CA, and a Biologist in Fort Belvoir, VA. Additionally, he worked as an Assistant Manager for a restaurant for 3 years. He graduated in May 2020 from Virginia Polytechnic Institute with a bachelor’s degree in Water: Resources, Policy, and Management. Hayden has a wholehearted passion for the environment and has volunteered much of his time to various Fairfax County Park services to improve stream quality and overall health of the park systems in that area. Hayden is determined to practice Leave No Trace principles wherever he goes and works diligently to lower his own carbon footprint through various day-to-day decisions.

Christina Ross

Contracts Manager 

Christina Ross joined Paragon in Fall of 2018 and brings with her a strong foundation in grant management as well as compliance, budget development and management, and contracts administration experience. Prior to joining Paragon, Christina was the Finance and Accounting Manager for Global Learning at Missouri University of Science and Technology, supervising the financial and administrative operations of the division. She was also a member of the Graduate/PhD Distance Student Recruitment/Retention Team. During her 14-year tenure at Missouri S&T, she also held positions as the Administrative Lead for the Environmental Research Center and a Grants and Contracts Specialist, monitoring grants and contracts for compliance, performance, reporting and accounting requirements. Additionally, she has experience with start-up companies, inventory tracking, corporate payroll, taxes, accounts payable and receivables. Christina’s passion is helping others, and she is a co-founder of a 501c3 non-profit foundation, Team Anita – Pay It Forward, that benefits local cancer patients.

   Nicole Annis, Ph.D.

Project Engineer 

Dr. Nicole Annis joined the Paragon team as a Project Engineer in January 2021. Her primary assignment is the project Development of a Lead Acid Battery Assimilation and Power Management System Prototype. Nicole brings a variety of strengths to the team, including industry experience in energy efficiency and renewable energy systems.

Jessica Miles

Human Resources Manager/
Star Development Coordinator 

Jessica Miles joined Paragon in 2007 and currently coordinates Paragon’s Star Development (human resources) operations. Prior to working for Paragon, Jessica worked as a Human Resources Specialist in the US Army. Jessica holds a Bachelor degree in Human Resource Management and a M.B.A in Human Resource Leadership from Franklin University.

 

 

Tina Monson

Office and Accounts Manager 

Paragon’s resident numbers whiz, Tina Monson takes care of all of our accounting, including payroll, invoicing, accounts payable and accounts receivable. Tina has mastered invoicing on Wide Area Work Flow for our DoD clients and NASA. Tina keeps Paragon in compliance with state payroll taxes and workers comp requirements in the multiple states where Paragon employees live. Her bookkeeping skills prepare Paragon’s books for DCAA compliance. She also ensures the home office is ready for visitors. Tina has over 30 years of accounting experience and honorably served six years in the Missouri Army National Guard as an administrative assistant.
