Construction of the new Diverging Diamond Intersection (DDI) at I-470 and View High Drive is progressing on schedule, and we’re sharing a quick update on the improvements underway.
The project includes a full reconfiguration of the intersection into a DDI, along with several enhancements to View High Drive. Notably, the I-470 bridges over View High Drive remain unaffected and are not part of this construction project.
On the east side of View High Drive, a new 10-foot-wide trail has been built, running from I-470 to Chipman Road. This new trail will eventually extend northward, connecting to the existing sidewalk north of the roundabout at Paragon Parkway and View High Drive. With the addition of this trail, the current bicycle lanes between I-470 and Chipman Road will be removed.
Work is also underway to shift Meers Road further south, including the creation of a new entrance to the Heartland Nursery property. This portion of the project is expected to be completed in the coming weeks.
Currently, crews are building new northbound lanes on View High Drive between Old View High Drive and I-470. In the coming weeks, traffic will shift to these new lanes, allowing for reconstruction of the existing southbound lanes.
